FLORENCE, Ala.-On Friday, Nov. 2, Shakespeare's famous tragedy,Macbeth, hits the Norton Auditorium stage for the first of four performances of this epic production.

Performances will take place Friday, Nov. 2and Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 4 and Nov. 11 at 2 p.m.

Macbethis one of Shakespeare's most psychologically intense works, with incredibly challenging character portrayals.

So, when asked why they would choose such a difficult show,Macbethdirector and Technical Director of Norton Auditorium, Kayla Manzolillo said, "When selecting a theatre piece to produce, we look at what would most benefit the current student pool and give them the best opportunityfor growth as performers and technicians, so in that respect,Macbethwas a no-brainer. Layer in the supernatural elements, bloody fight sequences, and gore; and the technicians, along with the actors, on this production have had their work cut out for them."

Macbethis no small feat, but UNA Theatre has delved head first into "the bloody business" of producing an iconic play. If you are looking for a fun Halloween outing, this is the show to come see!

The performance is made possible by the University of North Alabama Theatre program, School of the Arts and the Department of Entertainment Industry.
